Helping High School Seniors Shine Through
The fourth annual Uprising Stars Inc. Scholarship awards gala was held in New Jersey, and this year was perhaps the biggest and brightest year. Awarding high school seniors scholarships for their academic achievements has always been one of the goals for founder Danielle Worth. Founder Danielle Worth and co-founders and family members Darcell Johnson and Keiana Worth have created Uprising Stars Inc. a little over four years ago. In honor of their father and Darcell Johnson's late husband, Phillip Dorsey; the foundation was created with the thought and mentality of giving back. They started the foundation in New Jersey back in 2011, and the award ceremony kicked off the same year with their very first recipient. The first recipient is now a senior in college and comes back every year to share his experiences and advice to the new recipients. Now in it's fourth year, the foundation has awarded a total of 8 recipients with scholarships and supplies as they enter the next step in their lives. Uprising Stars Inc. awards gala also provides guest speakers which offer advice and stories of their success and pitfalls. They provide words of encouragement and guidelines for the future college students.
